On 25 July, the prestigious international taxation magazine The International Tax Review published the shortlist of candidates for the ITR EMEA TAX AWARDS 2024 categories. Andersen ranked among the best in four categories and, similarly to the last three years, it is a strong candidate for winning the ‘Tax Firm of the Year in Hungary’ award.
Founded in 1989, the International Tax Review (ITR), one of the world’s leading tax journals, is awarding Europe’s best tax advisory service companies for the 20th time. A jury of ITR’s editors and experts ranks the candidates’ performance in several categories, based on different aspects for the period in question.
In this contest, Andersen won the award for the best Hungarian tax advisory firm three years in a row (ITR EMEA Tax Award 2021 & 2022 & 2023 / Hungary Tax Firm of the Year). Thanks to its high-level work and results, the company has once again been ranked among the five best candidates, so it has a good chance of winning the prestigious award again this year.
The company’s performance and the level of services provided are well shown by the fact that it is shortlisted in three other categories as well, (1) Hungary Transfer Pricing Firm of the Year, (2) Tax Disputes Advisory Firm of the Year and (3) Hungary Indirect Tax Firm of the Year. It is worth highlighting that the latter, the VAT Advisor of the Year in Hungary in 2022 and 2023, was also awarded to Andersen by the ITR jury.
Looking at the list of nominees, it is worth noting that, unlike in previous years, all BIG4 firms are represented in each category, which clearly raises the level of competition and increases the professional value of the awards. Deloitte, like Andersen, is included in each of the lists, while EY, KPMG and PwC each received one nomination.
The winners will be announced on 18 September, at the awards ceremony held in London.
