Andersen is once again the Indirect Tax Firm of The Year in Hungary

As in the past two years, Andersen Adótanácsadó Zrt. has been the best performing Hungarian tax advisor in the field of VAT, according to the prestigious international tax magazine, International Tax Review.

The International Tax Review (ITR), one of the world’s leading tax journals, founded in 1989, has awarded the best tax advisory services in Europe for the 20th time. The jury, made up of editors and experts from the magazine, assessed the candidates’ performance on the basis of the volume and complexity of the tasks they had completed during the period under review, the innovative nature of their implementation and their clients’ feedback.

ITR ranks the candidates in a total of four categories: the best tax firm, VAT, transfer pricing and tax litogation advisory. As previously reported, Andersen was shortlisted in all four categories this year. In a strong field, the firm earned the Indirect Tax Firm of the Year in Hungary award.

The indirect tax service line led by Bence Barta, partner at Andersen in Hungary, has more than doubled its turnover in the last two financial years. “This year again, all the conditions are in place to maintain this growth rate. I am convinced that we have earned the professional recognition of the ITR primarily by reacting quickly to changes in tax legislation and providing innovative solutions and services to our clients,” he says.

A long, three-year series was broken when Andersen did not win the Tax Firm of the Year in Hungary award this time, after 2021, 2022 and 2023. “Despite not winning the award this year, we can still be proud of the fact that we are the only one in Hungary who has managed to break the monopoly of BIG4 in this field. The fact that we were ranked in the top five in the overall strength ranking again this year (the only one outside the BIG4) continues to show that Andersen is one of the leading tax advisors in Hungary and we should continue to be taken seriously in this professional battle, which we definitely want to win again next year.” – said Károly Radnai, managing partner of Andersen in Hungary.
