According to the evaluation of International Tax Review, one of the world’s leading and largest international tax journal, Andersen Hungary provided the best performance among Hungarian tax consulting firms last year. The firm won this highly esteemed professional recognition just a year after the brand returned to Hungary.
International Tax Review (ITR) awarded the companies offering Europe’s best tax consulting services for the 17th time this year. The jury, consisting of ITR’s editors and experts, evaluated the aspirants’ performances in the given year according to the volume, complexity and innovative nature of implementations for the projects examined. In this competition Andersen was granted the award for the best Hungarian tax consulting firm (ITR EMEA Tax Award 2021). On the shortlist of the top five nominees’ names like Deloitte, EY, Baker & McKenzie or the Jalsovszky Law Firm were also included.
The traditional brand – after an 18-year pause – returned to Hungary in July 2020 through the combination of OrienTax and Szabó, Kelemen and Partners Law Firm. According to their agreement, the two entities have been operating under the name Andersen in Hungary as members of the international consulting group, Andersen Global since last summer.
According to Károly Radnai, managing partner of Andersen’s tax practice in Hungary, last year’s business performance and the acknowledgment from ITR evidently meet the expectations for the brand’s return. “We started our cooperation a year ago by providing our expertise, services and the support of Andersen Global’s international background. The driving force was to take up the competition with the members of the BIG4. Winning one of the most prestigious international taxation awards is a convincing proof that we have assessed our opportunities well. It seems like we are way closer to reaching our goals, than we thought before.” – said Károly Radnai.
Andersen in Hungary is recognized as the 5th largest firm in offering Hungarian tax consulting services. Based in Budapest, the team of around 100 employees consists of 90 tax professionals and lawyers.
According to Károly Radnai the return of Andersen generated an intense competition in the Hungarian tax consulting industry. “The expansion of our customer base, the rising volume of our commissions and the increase in the number of our experts demonstrate that we are inevitably catching up to the biggests. We must be taken seriously, also supported by the fact that in the last 10 years in Hungary the award of the ITR Tax Firm of the Year was always given to members of the BIG4 – believes the expert.
